Recipe

Time to Prep: About 15 minutes

Cooking Time: Just 2 minutes

Who Can Eat: Makes enough for 2 people

What You Need

  • 6 dried dates, pitted

  • 4 dried figs, stems removed

  • 2 cups milk (you can use almond, soy, or regular milk)

  • 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup

  • Grated chocolate or chocolate chips (for garnish)

  • Sliced almonds (for garnish)

How to make it:

  • Soak the dates and figs in warm water for 10-15 minutes to soften them. This will make them easier to blend.

  • Drain the dates and figs and put them in a blender. Add the milk and chocolate syrup.  If you like your milkshake cold, add a few ice cubes.

  • Blend everything at high speed until smooth. Make sure there are no chunks left for a creamy, smooth milkshake.

  • Pour the milkshake into two glasses. Add a dollop of whipped cream on top of each. Sprinkle some grated chocolate or chocolate chips and sliced almonds for that extra yummy look.
